When I started looking for my current truck I already had an 02 extended cab GMC. Despite its 4.8 I was pretty happy wih it. But with a kids on the horizon it was time for an upgrade. Lucky for me I knew just what I wanted. I knew only the Dark Green metalic would do and under no circumstances would the peanut butter interior be acceptable. Well my daughter beat the truck to the driveway. but after a few years of cruising automalls every opportunity and driving everyone nuts. I got a call from one of the feelers I put out "I got your truck!" yea right I had heard that one many times before but after the long drive from Sacramento to Fresno there she was. What rims do you want? How low do you want to go? Exhaust? I'd been talking to these guys off and on they all knew what I was going to say before I could say it and it was ready when I showed up. A 5/7 McGaughys drop kit with a little massaging its more like a 5/9. While they where under there they welded on a flowmaster (hope to be changing that out soon) VJ's was a great purchasing experiance.
After a few months I noticed the hood and roof clear coat was starting to fail. I really scored when I had John Christenson respray the hood roof as well as pretty much all the plastics under the hood and a Denali dash insert. while he was at it I picked up and had him swap the textured black plastic handles for the Denali's and paint my cold air intake as well.
I still have a long ways to go but no mater what happens I'll never sell this truck. I brought my Son home for the first time in this truck. I have hauled projects for myself and freinds. Family Vacations and daily to and from every where. This truck is family and besides I"ve got an HD hood and a bunch of other upgrades and mods just waiting to be installed. Hell I havent even bagged it yet! Besides my daughter says she wants it to be her's. Yup long ways to go and I cant wait!
