Well it's slow and spendy but I am making progress on Ricks 1998 GMC Sonoma, Sonomair. And hell yeah I am still loving being a mini truck owner again. Even on the ugly rollers cruising around blasting tunes and hitting switches... Sometimes when I am behind the wheel I feel like I've somehow slipped back in time. Somewhere between high school and college. Being behind the wheel even just to run short errands is like a mini vacation.
Friday I picked up the original Boyds wheels from Larson Auto Detailing, Aaron re polished and ceramic coated them and they look incredible! He was even able to repolish the OG Boyd caps and keep the logo stickers intact. I wont put them back on till the truck is repainted and striped so everything is fresh. After paint I plan on bringing the truck back to Aaron after for a full detail. Aaron seems completely confident he can bring the panels that will not get redone back to the way it was when Rick showed it back in the day.
Speaking of, I've found the body shop I am going to be taking her to and they are making space for me. First I gotta score some more parts. Thanks to some help from you guys, I was able to determine the manufacturer of the damaged hood! Yes the guys at Ultra Truck Works have already ordered it up! While we are waiting on the new hood to arrive, I am hoping to get a few other pieces checked off the list ass well. so what's next? Well, I am looking for the correct set of after market mirrors Rick had swapped on a couple different ones I am not sure what was on it when he sold it but its got stock versions on now. As always there a few other things I need to accomplish. I'm gonna keep a few surprises in the bag at least for now.

If things go smoothly, though I know they rarely do, I should have the lions share of the restoration completed in time to not only enjoy but feel good about re introducing Ricks truck to todays scene.
I can't wait!
