I am not immune.

Writer: James, The Lowered HMFIC James, The Lowered HMFIC

Part of what keeps me posting and working to improve The Lowered Facebook page is the excitement and vindication seeing my own ride be appreciated generates. I know for me when I see my car published or posted I get so stoked. I am definitely not immune! Especially when its by someone or an entity that I respect. Being able to generate this feeling, one I treasure so much for other's is a big part of why I do what I do. Like you, I can't help but read all the comments and depending where its posted sometimes thats a mistake. Shockingly, this is were things at least for me and The Lowered get really good. Iam so lucky to have such a great group of folks following The Lowered. I cant tell you guys how many times I'll post a car and the owner will PM me thanking me not just for posting but for you guys and your comments. If I had to guess what keeps The Lowered Facebook page so positive I would have to say it's three main things.

1. No politics or religion

2. I post what I want even if its not car related

Probably most important of all,

3. I have always been ok with people posting derogatory comments as long as they also post a pic of their own car. So we can all judge how valid their opinion is. myself included.

It doesn't happen very often any more but when it does, asking that the poster of the derogatory comment post a pic of their own ride? That tends to put things in perspective real quick. It's why I post pics of my own junk and am so honest about issues and triumphs that I am going through with each of them. I want you guys to know I am not just some guy behind a keyboard, I am in this just like most of you. I am not a rich guy, none of my stuff is "done" or good enough to be in the big show. But I am out here having a good time meeting you all as much as I can and tripping out on all the cool stuff you guys are building. If I can continue earning a place in your lives and maybe give some of you a bit of that awesomness that I feel, seeing my own rides get love its worth all the time and effort.

As for the video clip. Being featured in Sacramento Autorama coverage is a watershed moment for me. Its my hometown show. The show I grew up going with my dad and friends to, I wish my Dad was still around to see the last car we built together getting some official Sacramento Autorama love. To be selected to be part of their video when there were so many other amazing cars in attendance is a big honor for me and one I'll never forget. I want to be clear, NO, I dont think The Lowered is any where near the level of a published magazine or an international recognized car show importance wise, but maybe, if I keep pushing, just maybe, someday it could be.
