I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Boy I wish I wasn’t right on this one but here’s the proof in black and white.

It bums me out that Ford is the one spearheading this but as I have said and detailed before, once these cars have self parking/self driving capabilities a self repossessing vehicle was inevitable. If you’re not interested in reading the whole article here’s a quote from the article with the meat and potatoes.

“For instance, if you miss a payment, your car could disable cruise control, radio, or GPS. Miss another payment and the air conditioner goes, too. Keep missing payments and, eventually, your car could actually relocate itself from your home to a spot where it would be easier for the repo people to pick it up. That is, if the car has any self-driving features. The patent said the vehicle would only need to be "semi-autonomous" for that particular feature to work.”

The article goes on to say that just because Ford has the patent doesn't mean that they will use it but we all know how that goes. I keep saying it but I dont think people realize the pandoras box these electric cars have the capacity to be.
