The struggle continues. while I have received much expert advice on the concerning sounds from the engine bay, the consensus seems to be run her till she pops. Why you ask? Well I live in California, where cool is born then summarily slain and banned on the alter of the environment and disapproval and anger toward anything cool. Meanwhile few states can compete with the uninterrupted trails of trash that are our public streets highways and byways. I digress, with the current shifts in Smog laws shops that previously had focused on LS upgrades and performance for modern and new vehicles are wringing their hands as Customers are returning en mass to get recently installed exhaust and other upgrades removed and put back to stock. Its against my nature to spend so much on any one improvement or service and not upgrade in some way. Impeccable timing on my 5.3s part I know, but as long as she holds out I might as well wait for people to figure out what is what with these new smog laws.
In the mean time I have picked up a new sponsor in Elite Audio and Tint in Elk Grove California. Mark and his guys upgraded my terrible blown stock speakers to all new JL Audio goodness including one of their (JL Audio) OBS Crew cab style sub boxes putting two 10s behind the rear seat. Holy crap what a difference!!! I can't say enough about how happy I am with the installation and the new sound. JL audio and Elite Audio and Tint have a new long time customer in me.
Next will be some upgrades to the exterior, and I cant wait to share them with you guys, yes even in the face of adversity, progress marches on.
