Well I certainly didn't need it but looks like I have yet another weird ass vehicle to add to my obsession file.
Apparently a company called Gibbs is making this little slice of awesomeness. An amphibious motorcycle that you can ride 80 MPH on land ride directly into the water and then ride as a jet ski with a 5 second transition time?!?! Has anyone ever made a better get away vehicle? OK sure there have been a few companies that made a car that turns into an airplane. But they certainly didn't transform in 5 seconds! And none of them made very good cars. Admittedly the car to an airplane thing might be a superior get away vehicle. That said this motorcycle can split lanes and is going to be way easier to hide so lets call that contest a draw.
Even if you dont have nefarious plans in motion something like this makes a lot of sense. Depending on cost of coarse.
My major issues with water craft has always been, they are such a pain in the ass to use and enjoy. I am sure we have all seen it before. That one neighbor with a boat in his garage diagonal in his two car garage? The one he takes out like one or two times a year if that. You know with half an apartments worth of shit stacked on it. Even if he keeps it ready if he wants to use it, theres a couple hours prep the night before. Getting it hitched up and loaded then the boat ramp the launching and the parking the tow vehicle. Then when your done its the re loading and the putting all that shit away again. What a hassle.
Unless you have water front property owning a boat or jet ski always seemed like way more of a hassle than it was worth. At least to me.
Not with a Gibbs Amphibious Bike the Biski! Feel like goofing around? Open the garage throw your leg over it and you’re off! You can ride that sucker all over town hell take a road trip! Getting a bit sweaty? Find yourself a lake or river front and splash right in! Getting all pruned up? Drive that sucker out and head on home! And because of its size you can have two of these suckers and still park your car in the garage like a real human.
Something tells me its name “Biski” isn't what’s holding it back from inundating the market. It’s gotta be pricey as hell or I am sure id have sen them around. Looking at the specs 80mph on land 37 mph on water seems like a good time to me. Take a little more time and peruse the company web site. How was I not aware of this company? Gibbs makes all kinds of ambitious shit to play with. So I feel like they probably know what they are doing.
I poked around and couldn’t find any pricing nd you know what that means. If you have to ask the price you probably cant afford it. And thats a damn shame. I think other than the name Biski this thing is pretty cool. Depending on cost I could defiantly see this being the one water craft I'd consider owning. Heck out the video on the site it's pretty neat!
